Miniature Polymer Holloware

Jeff Dever will be offering a 2-day Pre-Conference Master class in Laurel, Maryland on Friday, 19 February 2010 and continuing on Sunday, 21 February 2010.

In this class students will explore a wide variety of small scale holloware forms and shapes created by using miniature form-building techniques.  The results are strong, light and often reproducible polymer clay holloware pieces, for use in jewelry as beads, pins, or pendants.  With simple techniques, students will create small forms/molds of their own design, and through clay layering and multi-cycle curing build small holloware pieces.  Surface ornamentation and finishing techniques will be discussed as time allows.  This is a technique workshop, not a project class, therefore all students need a basic working knowledge of polymer clay.
